Reading Notes: Welsh Fairy Tales, Reading A

The Stray Cow

Starts by setting up the scene and guess what the setting. Who would have guessed? The names in this story made it a little hard to keep track of what was happening at any given time. One of the things that I am able to get at the beginning is that it seems like a place that not a lot of people want to live but yet there was this cow which was the best cow that there had ever been. It makes good milk, cheese butter, and babies or calves. sounds like a rag to riches story because of this stray cow. I am currently wondering what it would be like and how I would adapt this story into something that I would want to share and tell. Wow, it sounds like the man has turned selfish but yet the cow being not from this world really did the max and became the biggest juiciest looking cow there could be. The cow is about to be killed but a sound came and stopped the butcher. The cow really seemed like it didn't want to die but I don't believe that the cow is the thing that made the noise. It appeared to be some goddess that the cows belonged to and it saved not only the cow that was about to be slaughtered but all of her offspring. So the comeuppance that the farmer got is that he lost the cows became poor again and no one felt bad for him because he was killing the thing that was going to make all of the money for him. This was a decent story it really didn't speak to me super deeply but it was alright. Not the favorite thing that I have read in this class.
